Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team, working across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2) in primary schools across Greenwich.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and sensory impairments.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCOs to adapt lesson plans and deliver tailored support.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all children feel valued and supported.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
  • Encourage independence and confidence in pupils through targeted interventions and positive reinforcement.
  • Support pupils with their social, emotional, and personal development needs.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic, patient, and empathetic, with a genuine commitment to helping children thrive.
  • Experienced in working with children with SEN (experience across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 is desirable).
  • Knowledgeable about SEN strategies, including Makaton, PECS, or sensory regulation techniques (training can be provided).
  • A team player who can build strong relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Flexible and adaptable to work across various schools and year groups.
  • Holding relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential.
