The Role :

We are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant to work at a wonderful SEN School based in Cambridge. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with a variety of learning, emotional, and physical needs in a classroom setting. You will play a crucial role in helping students engage with their education, develop their social skills, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the class teacher with delivering lessons and supporting individual students
• Providing one-to-one support to students with Special Educational Needs
• Helping students with tasks, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively
• Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a safe, inclusive classroom environment
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
• A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work as part of a collaborative team
• A proactive attitude and the ability to use your initiative
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable, but not essential
