Location: Tokers Green, ReadingSalary: £11.72ph - £12.53ph (actual annual salary = £20,941 - £22,388 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications)Contract: PermanentHours: 40 hours per week, term time onlyStart Date: January 2024

Opportunity

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new educational venture, working within an environment that is dedicated to supporting children aged 6-16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, moderate to severe learning needs, and associated challenges.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' learning and wellbeing, ensuring they thrive in a caring and safe environment.

Job Summary

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting teachers with the day-to-day running of the classroom, providing guidance and support when needed.
• Working collaboratively with the class team to deliver meaningful and tailored educational experiences for students.
• Supporting positive behaviour management strategies, adopting a child-centred approach.
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students in line with school policies.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• A good standard of English and Maths.

Desirable:

• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
• Experience managing challenging behaviours.
• Previous experience in an educational or multi-cultural setting.
