Reeson Education is collaborating with a dedicated primary school in Oldham (OL8) to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time, long-term position involves providing support across various Key Stage 2 (KS2) classes, assisting students with special educational needs to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs across multiple KS2 classes.
  • Assist class teachers in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapting lesson materials to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and participating in parent-teacher meetings as required.
  • Support students during classroom activities, group work, and individual tasks, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance.

Qualifications and Experience Required for the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a primary school setting, is essential.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, including implementing IEPs and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's educational development.
