SEN Teaching Assistant | 1:1 Support for Complex Needs | £80-£100 Per Day | Waltham Forest, East London

This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs, particularly those who require structured interventions and sensory-based learning techniques.

The Role:

• Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs Support).
• Salary: £80-£100 per day, depending on experience.
• Location: Waltham Forest, East London.
• Start Date: Immediate.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work 1:1 with pupils with additional needs, providing tailored support to ensure they feel safe, engaged, and confident in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with complex learning needs.
• Use visual timetables, sensory activities, and communication aids to support engagement.
• Assist with speech & language interventions, working alongside the SENCO and therapists.
• Provide emotional and social support, helping pupils with confidence and independence.
• Liaise with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a holistic approach to education.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role.
• A calm and proactive approach to working with pupils with additional needs.
• Experience with ASD, ADHD, or speech & language difficulties is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or sensory-based learning strategies is an advantage.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
