SEN Teaching Assistant - Theale, Reading

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant - Theale looking for your next opportunity to make a difference? A fantastic primary school in RG7 Reading is hiring multiple SEN Teaching Assistant - Theale s to join their supportive and dynamic team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2), supporting their educational and emotional development.

  • Location: RG7, Reading
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term time only)
  • Pay: £83.50 - £90 per day (depending on experience)
  • Start Date: January 2025

As an SEN Teaching Assistant - Theale , you will play a key role in helping children with special educational needs access the curriculum and thrive in a positive learning environment. Working closely with class teachers and the SENCo, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups to meet their individual needs.
  • Adapting resources and teaching strategies to cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Encouraging independence and confidence in the classroom.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to implement individualised education plans (EHCPs).

What We're Looking For:The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient, and dedicated to supporting children with SEN. While passion and a proactive attitude are essential, the following qualities are highly desirable:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in a UK primary school setting.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with SEN strategies and an understanding of the UK curriculum.
  • Qualifications: A teaching assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS: An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
