SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join our supportive primary schools in the Doncaster and Rotherham areas. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who have experience working with children with SEND/SEMH needs and possess the soft skills required to nurture and support their development.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to children with a range of SEND/SEMH needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioural plans.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment to meet the needs of SEND pupils.
- Encourage and support children’s social, emotional, and academic development.
- Facilitate small group activities and one-to-one support sessions.
- Monitor and record the progress of children with additional needs, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children who have SEND/SEMH needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children.
- Patience, understanding, and a nurturing disposition.
- Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working with colleagues and other professionals.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
