SEN Teaching Assistant - Make a Real Impact!

Location: Wakefield, West YorkshireSalary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (Actual salary: £19,370.70 - £21,122.66, depending on experience)Hours: 37 hours per week - Term Time Only

We're looking for committed SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team, working with students aged 11-19 who have complex needs, such as autism, learning disabilities, and communication challenges. Your Key Responsibilities:

Support Learning:Collaborate with teachers to foster a supportive, engaging learning environment.

Tailored Support:Provide individualised or small-group assistance, focusing on each student's sensory and communication needs.

Build Strong Relationships:Develop trusting connections with students to help them feel safe and included.

Encourage Positive Behaviour:Use creative strategies to promote positive behaviour, adjusting your methods to suit each student's needs.

Assist with Personal Care:Offer personal care when needed, always maintaining respect and dignity for students.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with SEN students (paid or voluntary).
• Level 2 or higher qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred but not essential).
• GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - required.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
• Flexible, creative approach to meeting individual learning needs.
