Job Location : Leeds, UK
Whilst this role shares many of the facets of a traditional Commercial Account Executive role, it is somewhat unusual as you will be assuming control of a portfolio of accounts that are passed on by an Appointed Representative who is retiring.
Make no mistake, this is very much an employed position that enjoys the security and benefits of a PAYE role. However, as these accounts are to be passed over from the retiring AR who has a longstanding partnership with the brokerage, you will benefit from a warm handover, without the fear of your portfolio being 'under attack’ from a former Account Exec’.
The portfolio stands at several hundred thousand pounds in terms of commission and fee income, with clients typically generating brokerage in excess of £10,000 and the larger clients paying fees in excess of £25,000. Although it is a miscellaneous commercial portfolio spanning a range of industry sectors, there is a bias towards manufacturing and associated risks.
Building a sound rapport with your clients, you will develop a deep understanding of their businesses, and ensure that their insurance programmes continue to adequately reflect exposures to risks. Where gaps in cover exist, you will suggest innovative ways to mitigate these. You will be supported in the day-to-day management of this portfolio by a team of Account Handlers and support personnel who will assist with renewal work, general enquiries and mid-term amendments.
It is essential that you are an experienced Account Executive with a knowledge of all common commercial covers, including Property, Liability, Motor and Financial Lines. Whilst it is not essential that you have previously dealt with risks generating £25,000+ income, you must have experience of dealing with cases generating £5,000 - £10,000 brokerage as a minimum. You should also have excellent communication skills, together with the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients from all walks of life. You should also be well organised, diligent and have a keen eye for detail.
It is anticipated that this role will pay a basic salary in the region of £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, but this is entirely negotiable for outstanding candidates. You will also receive a generous bonus and a comprehensive array of company benefits.
This broker operates a hybrid-working model, and you will be welcome to work from home several days per week.Aston Charles - a personalised service from industry expertsGeneral Insurance and Financial Services RecruitmentFor more jobs like this, or for more information on how we may be able to help you in your search for a new job, please visit our website
