Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll take ownership of preparing accounts for a range of client types and sectors, ensuring accuracy and delivering exceptional service. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing accounts from various client systems, including Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks
• Preparing corporation tax computations and management accounts
• Handling queries raised by accounts and tax managers, ensuring resolution and accuracy
• Finalising accounts following client meetings
• Acting as a point of contact for clients, addressing ad hoc queries
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting clients with compliance
• Supervising, training, and mentoring junior team members

Candidate Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualification, or be a finalist, or be qualified by experience
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice (preferred)
• Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with current legislation
• Experience preparing year-end accounts for owner-managed businesses, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to supervise, train, and mentor junior staff
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with a high attention to detail
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks (preferred)
• A proactive and driven approach to meeting deadlines and budgets
