Senior Accountant - Oliver James : Job Details

Oliver James are currently working with one of our insurance clients in London who offer property, casualty and speciality lines through Lloyds. This is a permanent position in the finance function and it titled Senior Accountant - Ceded.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the financial accounting , internal controls, budgeting , and financial reporting. This role will also be involved in project work enhancing effectiveness of reporting requirements. As Senior Accountant you will have close interaction across multiple areas of the business.

After speaking with our client at length about this position , Oliver James are speaking with candidates in the market who have the below competencies.

• A fully qualified accountant (ACA,CA,ACCA)
• At least 2 - 5 years relevant experience (This can be from working in the BIG 4 should your audit clients be from the insurance sector)
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP (or other relevant GAAP)
• Having knowledge of general ledger and reinsurance accounting systems is desired.

To give you an idea of the accountabilities , please see below (not limited to)

• Support the FP&A team with preparation of budgets and planning for management information , corporate entities and third parties.
• Provide data to key stakeholders.
• Prepare financial reports for both internal and external purposes (in accordance with GAAP and Regulatory standards).
• Assist with completing aspects on the monthly close , including financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
