Job Description :

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of accounting tasks, including invoicing, reconciliations, credit control, and payment processing. This role will also involve project work and supporting the wider finance function to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.

What we are looking for:

  • Intermediate computer skills (Outlook Email, Word and Excel, V-Lookups, Pivot tables) required for the role
  • Organised, reliable and highly accurate with numbers
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage projects
  • Must be a strong team player, have a good work ethic & remain professional at all times.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Completed studies to AAT 2 level or equivalent

About The Role

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Invoicing & Credit Control:

·         Raising and sending client invoices in a timely manner.

·         Managing credit control for owned clients, ensuring timely payment collection.

·         Oversee bad debt management, ensuring overdue accounts are followed up and escalated as necessary.

·         Implement strategies to minimise bad debt exposure and improve cash flow.

Reconciliations & Payments:

·         Performing reconciliation of supplier statements.

·         Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved.

·         Processing payment runs, including multi-currency.

·         Processing inter-account transfers and maintaining accurate financial records.

Supplier & Client Queries:

·         Overseeing any supplier payment queries.

·         Responding to supplier/client invoice queries efficiently and professionally.

Administrative & Financial Support:

·         Maintaining and organising the group inbox ensuring all emails are actioned appropriately.

·         Handling daily cash receipting and updating financial records.

Project Work:

·         Assisting with financial projects that contribute to process improvements and efficiencies.

·         Collaborating with team members on ad-hoc accounting tasks as required.

·         Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation.

·         Mentor and support junior accounting staff where necessary.

Required Criteria

  • 3-5 Years of experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Criteria

  • Completed studies to AAT 2 level or equivalent
