Role Overview

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Planning and EIA Co-ordinator to join the Savills Central South Planning team in Southampton at Senior Planner or Associate level. We have a specific role for a candidate with experience and knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) who wishes to develop their career in the UK’s largest planning consultancy.The successful candidate would work within the Savills Southampton Planning Team providing planning and EIA services to a wide range of clients in the Central South region. The team’s reach is diverse, with a strong pipeline of regionally significant projects including Strategic Urban Extensions, new settlements, major industrial and logistics developments, retail repurposing and town centre regeneration, major urban mixed-use and commercial, in addition to a wide ranging rural / land owner estate portfolios. We work for a wide variety of high profile clients, spanning landowners, private individuals, institutions, developers, promoters, national and regional house builders, commercial/leisure operators and investors.

Key Responsibilities

 • With senior support, provide EIA consultancy across a broad range of development projects through the EIA Screening, Scoping and ES Preparation stages• Provide planning and EIA advice, preparing planning applications, including Planning Statements, and leading multi-disciplinary consultancy teams• Coordination and quality control of specialist consultants’ reports• Contribute to and help maintain Savills IEMA EIA Quality Mark• Supervise and mentor junior colleagues• Contribute towards winning new instructions, alongside servicing existing instructions• Develop and manage a network of key contacts within and beyond SavillsKey Skills• At least 1+ years Post Qualified experience (MRTPI or IEMA Practitioner working towards Chartership, or Chartered) • Commercial and entrepreneurial• Detail conscious, accurate• Proactive, efficient and effective• Can work to tight deadlines• Team player• Strives to deliver an exceptional level of service to clients at all times• Excellent written and communication skills• Presentable, and with good presentation skills• Detailed knowledge of the British Town Planning system• Good experience in leading and managing projects

This position of a Senior Planner and EIA Consultant is an important role in the Central South Planning Team and wider Savills Southampton Office – to help deliver, a wide range of exciting and high profile projects. The Savills Central South Planning Team, which is one of the largest in the Region and regarded by our clients as a market leader, is an integral part of the biggest planning consultancy in the UK which is over 300 strong with planning specialists covering every land use sector and geographical area in the UK.The successful candidate will work in our new multi-service office located at Mountbatten House, Southampton. This is an exciting and rare opportunity for the successful candidate to experience working as a Senior or Associate planner within a truly cradle to grave development environment alongside colleagues in Development (residential and commercial), Industrial & Logistics, Office agency, Residential Development Sales, Building Surveying and others.
