About the Senior BDM - Commercial REF role:
Our client is a fantastic Challenger Bank with an excellent proposition across a number of verticals, within which Commercial Real Estate lending is a real area of expertise. The bank is continuing to scale and one of the positions they are excited to fulfil is a Senior BDM position based in Manchester/North West to join their busy team.
Purpose of the Senior BDM - Commercial REF role:
- To identify and develop business opportunities and broker/ professional relationships which will help the Bank achieve its strategic and Business Plan objectives. Generate the maximum amount of compliant profitable sales through the achievement of sales targets, whilst ensuring good customer outcomes.
- To remain compliant at all times and support all aspects of the onboarding process in line with Bank processes and procedures.
Duties and responsibilities of the Senior BDM - Commercial REF role:
- Working closely with the Regional Director (RD) to develop and implement a sales’ strategy for their respective region and target market, as part of the Bank’s overall strategic plan, through the management of key 'client’ and intermediary relationships.
- Identify and develop sales opportunities from new to Bank customers and brokers, to generate compliant sales to achieve maximum profitability against sales’ targets for the region, whilst meeting all regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring the correct customer outcomes are continually achieved.
- To promote, identify, qualify and pass on leads to other sections of the REF and AF sales teams and to act as an Ambassadors of CCB at all times.
- Ensure all paperwork is obtained, facts declared and all due diligence is completed in line with Bank requirements, before submitting quality applications to Credit to support new proposals.
- Work closely with both the Sales and Operations Team to effectively onboard and drawdown deals for new to Bank clients, retaining overall responsibility for all conditions for a loan until drawdown has occurred.
- Establish and maintain effective and respectful communication links with all relevant departments, and other bank staff to identify all sales opportunities, increased areas of risk or process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and annual review activity and prepare regular forecasts to enable effective forward planning.
- Encourage enrolment of new customers in customer satisfaction surveys to identify scope for improvements in product quality and service delivery.
- Maintain a high level of market awareness, monitoring the sales performance of competitors to ensure that the Bank maintains and develops its competitive position, identifying opportunities for new products or product enhancement as appropriate
- Assist in the development of sales and marketing literature and associated documents to improve the marketing of the Bank and its products and services.
- Support the continual development of the LSOs within their respective region’s Relationship team, through ongoing coaching and training methods.
- Adhere to the Bank’s brand and culture values, ensuring that all accountabilities are undertaken in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and good client outcomes form the basis of decisions made.
Experience & Knowledge of the Senior BDM - Commercial REF role:
- A proven record of success in business development and sales, preferably in a related industry
- Experience in leading a team and developing individuals to maximise performance
- An understanding of the relevant rules under the financial services acts
- A high level of financial and commercial awareness, including credit analysis
- Excellent sales and interpersonal skills
- Impressive record of achieving targets
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
- An understanding of Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty requirements.
- An appropriate knowledge and experience of sales and marketing
