Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Business Analyst to join our team. In essence, the focus of this role is to help drive our strategic API roadmap. Initially, you will help develop our API framework and artefacts and subsequently propel the API program forward. Y ou will ensure the process runs smoothly from initial idea gathering to sign-off and release, maintaining open lines of communication and facilitating collaborative work within multi-functional teams . You will act as an escalation point for SSD for external or internal queries relating to API development. Responsibilities Include:Business Analysis

• Analysis of business requirements, including gap analysis of changes required to processes, procedures and systems
• Working with various business areas and developers to maintain and improve existing in-house software
• Reporting to Management and obtaining approval for system development projects
• Analyse and translate business needs into technical specifications for API development and work development teams to design, test, and implement API solutions
• Ensure API solutions align with business goals and comply with industry standards and best practices
• Provide expertise and guidance on API integration and usage across various platforms
• Lead and mentor other Business Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

Consultation

• Consulting extensively with business areas to assist in identifying and documenting business needs, solving problems, gathering requirements, identifying scope, usage and security requirements
• Identify and engage and proactively communicate with stakeholders on agreed change
• Acting as a liaison point between the developers, business units and 3rd parties
• Co-ordinating and consulting with the software developers to develop functionality and enhancements to the Transact system

Change

• Liaises with 3rd party suppliers and implementation partners to support the timely completion of API deliverables and provide local oversight of Group-level deliverables
• Creating, reviewing and updating change requests from business areas in line with Transact's change management process. This includes liaising with the various business areas to gather and refine requirements as well as with developers, project managers and 3 rd parties
• Performing change and benefit reviews following the introduction of change

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have approximately 5 years of hands-on experience in API development, with comprehensive knowledge of API lifecycle management, including gateways, security protocols, and performance optimisation. You should be a self-starter capable of prioritising your workload with excellent attention to detail. You will demonstrate a dogged approach allied with proven diplomacy and persuasive skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial services background and proven experience with WRAP platforms and API creation. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams and third parties to develop and implement API solutions and frameworks that align with our business objectives. Experience in initial API framework creation is desirable.
