The Senior Business Analyst is a key resource in agile teams at MaPS, supporting the day-to-day business analysis required for successful and value-driven product delivery. You will be responsible for supporting the product delivery team and working closely with the Product Owner, technical experts and other enabling functions to ensure solutions are meeting our customer, technical and business objectives.
Outputs include creating and managing requirements written as user stories for technical delivery, solution documents and proposals. You will be responsible for supporting key stakeholder relationships with a high degree of collaboration as well as working independently. You willcontribute to developing the BA Community and share best practice with the Tech and Change community at MaPS.

In this role you will be responsible for the following;
- Identify and elaborate user and business needs to enable effective design, development and testing of services and business change.
- Ensure new products and services meet business and user needs and are aligned with organisational goals.
- Analyse and understand a business problem or opportunity.
- Identify areas for improvement, explore feasible options, analyse the effects of change and define success measures.
- Understand any business and policy constraints that need to be considered and assess the implications.
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
ESSENTIAL:
- Agile working: Identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes. Help the team to decide the best approach and help teams to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and adhere to agreed minimum viable product (MVP), priorities and scope.
- Business analysis: Advise on the approach to identify, investigate, analyse and communicate complex business problems and opportunities within a project or programme of work.
- Business modelling: Lead on the modelling of processes, systems and data at varying levels of detail or complexity across a project or programme. Manage the effects of proposed changes.
- Business process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve business performance, within a project or programme. Lead the analysis, identification, design, prioritisation and implementation of process and business changes.
- Business process testing: Lead on the application of business analysis and evaluation skills to support the design, execution and assessment of business process tests and usability evaluations within a project or programme of work.
- Methods and tools: Build capability in methods and tools, ensuring they are adopted consistently and used effectively.
- Requirements definition and management: Advise on the approach to requirements management within a project or programme. Co-ordinate and review the prioritisation of requirements and engage in the negotiation of solutions to help meet programme objectives in collaboration with Product Owners.
- Stakeholder relationship management (business analysis): Lead on communicating with stakeholders, clarifying needs and commitments through consultation and consideration of consequences while focusing on user and business needs.
- Systems analysis: lead the identification and analysis of IT system capabilities, developing models and system requirements. Use systems analysis to support a deeper understanding of how processes and systems work, and to identify gaps.
- Testing (business analysis): recommend the value of testing and apply the relevant tools and techniques to ensure test validity.

Most of our roles can operate on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, noncontractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs.
