Senior Business Data Analyst | Insurance experience essential Our client, in the insurance industry is currently in the midst of a IT transformation and requires a Senior Data Analyst / Business Analyst who has worked within the Insurance space for 2/3+ years

Salary: Circa £85,000 + Benefits (Bonus, Pension etc)

Location: Central East London (Circa 3 days a week onsite)

Role responsibilities

• Analyse challenges, engage with stakeholders, and understand the  business’ applications and core insurance platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and support the Data Operations service for insurance products
• Translate data requirements into valuable solutions and document them as user stories/features/epics
• Troubleshoot data queries and issues, facilitating resolutions or educating business users
• Become the “Go To” member of the analysis team, guiding offshore capacity
• Mentor teammates and learn technical skills from them
• Participate in Agile meetings and share responsibilities for Month End activities

Required experience

• 3+ years of experience across different business areas in an insurance company
• Expert in translating vague business requirements into clear technical specifications
• Proficient with complex data sets and data extraction across databases, cloud storage, and unstructured files
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical analysis skills
• Ability to work directly with stakeholders at all levels, from operations to executives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Proficient in SQL, Power BI reporting, and Excel modelling

Desirable

• Experience with business decision engines
• Familiarity with semantic layer tools
• In-depth knowledge of best practices for using Azure DevOps
