Job Description :

Our client is a purpose led organisation in the health and wellness industry, and due to growth and expansion is looking to hire an experienced Senior Category Manager with a strong background in product management or merchandising.

The Senior Category Manager will be responsible for driving the success of current product lines, managing the product lifecycle and NPD process, ensuring product offerings align with market trends and consumer needs. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for market trends, the ability to negotiate with suppliers on pricing and strong reporting and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Development: Lead the development and execution of the category strategy, identifying market opportunities and trends to drive product innovation and differentiation.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring a reliable supply chain.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand consumer needs, competitor activities, and emerging trends in the supplements industry.
  • Product Performance: Monitor and analyse product performance, making data-driven decisions to optimise product offerings, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, technical and nutrition teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing category performance.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, working with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability.
  • Financial Accountability: Manage the category's P&L, ensuring profitability targets are met and contributing to the overall financial goals of the business.

Person Profile

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in category management, from a product management or buying background, preferably within retail, health & wellness, food or beauty.
  • Strong ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Good commercial acumen with the ability to measure success and failures.
  • Proven track record in negotiating with suppliers to secure favourable terms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
