Shorterm are currently representing their client based in Gateshead who are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer or experienced Civil Engineer to join their award winning Civil and Structural team.The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of projects, leading day to day technical delivery of civil engineering consultancy services from feasibility through to planning, detailed design and construction.You will have expertise in drainage and highway design, SuDS, Flood Risk Assessments, and earthworks.You will be supported by a team of experienced technical staff of various grades with whom you will collaborate to ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget to the quality expected by clients.The Role;The role of the Senior Civil Engineer/Technician role will involve:Working on a range of projects including Housing, Commercial, Residential and Extra Care developmentsUsing design based software for innovative infrastructure solutionsBoth public and private sector projectsWorking to relevant UK design standardsKey Requirements;BEng, Meng, MSc, HND or HNC in Civil Engineering together with a minimum 4 years post qualification experience working within an engineering consultancy environment.Be able to produce drainage and highway drawings, design calculations, technical reports and site appraisals.Knowledge of UK planning procedures and relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Local Authority Design Guidance and preparation of technical approvals.Working understanding of technical software including AutoCAD, Microdrainage/Flow, Causeway Live/PDS/Civil 3D and AutoTrack.Experience working with residential developersStrong written and verbal skills in EnglishSelf-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative on technical matters and provide support or mentoring to others within the teamA full UK driving licence would be advantageous
