Job Description :

An experienced Senior Cleaning Operations Manager with proven cleaning management experience is needed to lead and manage our cleaning team at Hurlingham Club, a prestigious private members club in London on a full-time basis.

Situated on 42 acres of landscaped grounds adjacent to the River Thames in Fulham, The Hurlingham Club is recognised as one of the world’s finest private member clubs. Since its opening in 1869, The Hurlingham Club’s croquet and tennis lawns, botanical gardens and stately Georgian Clubhouse – regarded as the birthplace of polo – have made it a sought-after destination for exclusive sporting and social activities.

About the Role

You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of cleaning operations budgets, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and compliance across the club. Work closely with the Senior Cleaning supervisor to develop and support the cleaning offering.

This role demands a hands-on leader with a strong focus on people management. You will be responsible for revitalising and motivating a well-established team by implementing robust HR strategies, refining operational processes, and fostering a high-performance culture.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for cleanliness and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a high-performing cleaning team
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement performance improvement plans
  • Create a positive and supportive work environment
  • Manage staff schedules and rotas, including shift patterns and overtime
  • Develop and implement robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all cleaning tasks

  • Oversee daily cleaning operations, ensuring all areas are cleaned to the highest standards
  • Responsible for budget setting and monitoring of suppliers
  • Inspect club and cleaning standards to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality
  • Develop and manage the cleaning department's budget
  • Procure cleaning supplies and equipment at competitive prices
  • Address member complaints and additional cleaning requests promptly
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and safety regulations
  • Provide training on safe working practices and the use of cleaning chemicals
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Be flexible with shift patterns to support the team, including early and late shifts
