About the role

As the Senior Client Assurance Manager at Hargreaves Lansdown (HL), you will be responsible for organising the workload and activity for Assurance team within our Client function. You will be working with the leaders across Client to embed risk and control activity, as well as championing a risk culture. You will also be involved in making the risk maturity program operational, and driving compliance with relevant policies and standards, while working closely with second- and third-line functions to align and coordinate wider risk and control activity.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing a team to deliver the risk maturity programme of work, along with embedding a culture of risk-based decision making to enhance business performance.
  • Embedding frameworks and supporting the development of robust risk and control management practices.
  • Organising regular and routine RCSA activity, including continual development of RCSA quality.
  • Evolving strategy and tooling to capture and track remediation activity including regulatory initiatives.
  • Working with peers, head of client assurance and optimisation and 1GRC teams to ensure risk events are being managed appropriately within Client teams. Including adherence to SLAs and root cause analysis provision.
  • Shaping the alignment of key activities with required controls across Client, wider than risk maturity. Controls testing
  • Embedding initiatives to continually enhance Risk culture through all activity - including overseeing Client controls for procurement and conflicts.
  • Developing the review of controls and the ICS. Integrating this into wider assurance activity in first line.
  • Embedding compliance risk standards and governance within the Client function and escalating any issues or incidents to the relevant stakeholders.

About you

  • Experience in risk and control / assurance management, in the financial services sector.
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management, frameworks and regulations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
  • Experience of managing a high performing team, with a proven ability to guide, inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to use data and insights to drive change and improvement.
  • Highly organised approach and able to prioritise and manage the workload for self and others.
  • Proactive, resourceful and ability to use initiative.
  • Reporting and presentation skills, with ability to use various tools and systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Interview process

The interview process for this role will consist of an introductory call, a competency-based interview and a task.

Working schedule

This role is based in our Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This is a permanent full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern of working in the office and at home.
