Description
- Overseeing the entire credit management process, ensuring timely payments and reducing debtor days.
- Implementing and managing credit policies and procedures in line with industry standards.
- Identifying potential credit risks and implementing effective risk management strategies.
- Coordinating with the sales team to ensure credit issues are resolved promptly.
- Preparing credit reports to senior management.
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory standards within the FMCG industry.
- Managing and motivating a team of credit control professionals.
- Work with the Logistics and Customers Services team in regards to EDI
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounting & Finance department.
- Monitoring of Over 90-day debt and assist in reduction of this through necessary means including resolving disputes, collecting payments and legal action.
- Notification of weekly sales and credit notes to Invoice Finance.
- Account dispute/query resolution.
- When required initiate proceedings to ensure outstanding debts are bought to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Review the company credit control procedure and develop and implement enhancements where required.
Profile
A successful Credit Manager should have:
- Proven experience in credit management within the FMCG sector.
- Solid knowledge of credit-related laws and regulations.
- Strong analytic skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- An understanding of Debt factoring / Invoice Financing is beneficial
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
- Worked with EDI Systems
