Description
In brief you will be responsible for:
- taking ownership of the underwriting process for prospective borrowers
- complete in-depth financial & non-financial analysis of potential borrowers
- determine the associated risks involved in granting a loan secured against assets in the renewables, offshore and recycling sector
- Attend credit meetings with potential borrowers and identify key risks, strengths and weaknesses
- Carry out market analysis of the sector, industry outlooks, target markets and borrower's position
- Be competent with financial modelling, preparing and presenting them aswell as comfortably giving overviews of structure, cash flow, collateral etc
- Provide recommendations based on your analysis and assessment of credit risk and present the deal to the Investment Committee.
- Engage with external contacts such as solicitors and valuers
Profile
The successful candidate in brief:
- Should be comfortable and confident leading a credit processes, from engaging with the potential borrowers, to writing credit papers and then presenting to committee
- Experience of lending to corporates, and also of lending against assets such as machinery and plants - and having a high level overview of key risks for this type of lending
- Strong financial modelling and analysis skills
- Ideal candidates will have 8-10 years solid credit experience, and should have a background working in a non-bank or alternative lender within the UK
- Have a solid understanding of deal structuring and documentation
