About the role:

As the Senior Credit Risk Manager at Drax your role will be a critical role within the Trading and Commodity Risk function, providing:

·       overall guidance and direction to the Commercial business units on credit and contractual risk related matters;

·       independent credit and contractual risk oversight and challenge to the business, with the goal of ensuring accountability of the Company’s credit and contractual risk.

You’ll have responsibility for:

·                The design and implementation of the Group’s Commercial credit and contractual risk policy;

·                Providing independent credit and contractual risk advice and challenge to the Commercial business, both formally through the Risk Committee and through regular informal discussion;

·                Identifying, assessing and determining any potential contractual risks associated with any contracts;

·                Management of key credit functions and collateral utilisation;

·                Key liaison with Drax’s external credit risk system provider.

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll need to have previous experience in a similar role along with:

•        Strong management and collaboration skills to engage with the Commercial businesses and wider Group;

•        The ability to influence senior management, with a willingness to challenge and question;

•        Expertise in effective risk governance and controls;

•        The ability to negotiate with counterparties on contract related matters;

•        Strong understanding of the credit risk management of complex energy assets;

•        Sound judgment around credit risk issues in a trading environment;
