Senior Business Data Analyst | Insurance experience essential Our client, in the insurance industry is currently in the midst of a IT transformation and requires a Senior Data Analyst / Business Analyst who has worked within the Insurance space for 2/3+ years
Salary: Circa £85,000 + Benefits (Bonus, Pension etc)
Location: Central East London (Circa 3 days a week onsite)
Role responsibilities
- Analyse challenges, engage with stakeholders, and understand the business’ applications and core insurance platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and support the Data Operations service for insurance products
- Translate data requirements into valuable solutions and document them as user stories/features/epics
- Troubleshoot data queries and issues, facilitating resolutions or educating business users
- Become the “Go To” member of the analysis team, guiding offshore capacity
- Mentor teammates and learn technical skills from them
- Participate in Agile meetings and share responsibilities for Month End activities
Required experience
- 3+ years of experience across different business areas in an insurance company
- Expert in translating vague business requirements into clear technical specifications
- Proficient with complex data sets and data extraction across databases, cloud storage, and unstructured files
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical analysis skills
- Ability to work directly with stakeholders at all levels, from operations to executives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficient in SQL, Power BI reporting, and Excel modelling
Desirable
- Experience with business decision engines
- Familiarity with semantic layer tools
- In-depth knowledge of best practices for using Azure DevOps
