With a strong presence in the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and related organisations, our client is dedicated to solving complex operational problems through bespoke software solutions. This role is an integral part of their Defence business stream and aligns with their growth strategy. The Role:As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in one of our client’s agile delivery teams, using cutting-edge DevOps methodologies to support critical live applications for the MoD. This is a leadership role, encompassing complex technical tasks, team oversight, and client relationship management. You will be accountable for delivering high-quality projects within agreed timelines and ensuring team efficiency and alignment. Key responsibilities:
- Leading the support and development of live, in-service applications.
- Managing secure software development, testing, deployment, release, and monitoring.
- Designing and operating automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Developing and managing shared platform services for deployment, operation, and monitoring.
- Utilizing Kubernetes for containerized products.
- Writing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Deploying and operating products across public/private cloud environments (AWS, Azure, On-Premises).
- Advising teams during product onboarding to shared platform services.
- Implementing Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban.
- Providing technical consultancy to clients, addressing complex challenges.
- Offering leadership and mentorship to team members.
Candidate Requirements:The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proficiency in user research techniques like Contextual Inquiry, Ethnographic Research, Workshops, and Empathy Maps.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Advanced skills with design tools such as Figma.
- A proven track record of gathering requirements and translating them into effective design solutions.
- Extensive experience conducting user research using diverse techniques.
