Markerstudy Distribution is a division of Markerstudy, operating a broker portfolio for well known UK brands, with huge growth ambitions. We are aiming to be best in class in the digital insurance space and are looking for the right candidate to help us drive and deliver our vision within the Digital Engineering team.

As part of our Digital Engineering team, you'll be at the forefront of designing and delivering innovative solutions to enable us to reach this vision. Your contributions will directly impact all our digital customers, ensuring seamless scalable and efficient solutions.

Candidate Expectations

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and professional senior software engineer (Full Stack) to collaboratively deliver value to Markerstudy Distribution.

  • Quality focused, with a view of maintainability and testability utilising best engineering principles.
  • Proactive in issue resolution, learning and knowledge sharing and able to identify opportunities to improve existing systems, taking ownership of enhancements and leading their implementation.

Technical Skills

Essential:

  • C# / .NET as most of our estate is built using the latest stable versions.
  • Detailed knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Modern API design and implementation.
  • Git version control and branching strategies. 
  • Git – Understanding of version control best practices
  • C# / .NET Framework as some of our legacy applications are still supported.
  • Entity Framework Core & SQL.
  • A unit testing framework such as XUnit.
  • Markup languages such as XML, JSON or YAML.

Desirable:

  • Blazor (Server/WASM).
  • Angular and Typescript Experience with other web frameworks such as Vue, React or Svelte.
  • Azure DevOps pipelines, or similar tools such as GitHub Actions.
  • Azure or other cloud experience.
  • A BDD testing framework such as SpecFlow.
  • Sitefinity or other CMS software.
  • Figma or other prototyping tools.
  • SOAP integration.

Development & Delivery Process

  • Working as part of a small Scrum team (using Jira) with some cross-team collaboration.  We take retrospectives seriously and continuously look for opportunities to make improvements.
  • This is a fast-moving business; effective time management is expected.
  • Aspire to streamline processes and favour automation, to drive effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Clear and timely communications and business engagement is required.
