Join a leading laboratory as a Facilities and Environmental Officer. This role offers a dynamic work environment where you will be instrumental in managing both facilities and environmental compliance, ensuring efficient and safe operations within the pharmaceutical industry.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Building Maintenance: Coordinate routine inspections, minor repairs, and liaise with external contractors for larger repairs and upgrades. Assisting with building maintenance tasks, including routine inspections, minor repairs,
- Contract Coordination: Manage maintenance schedules, contractor services, and maintain effective communication with vendors.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee and conduct maintenance on critical laboratory equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Facilities Maintenance: Address internal maintenance requests promptly and manage urgent facilities issues effectively.
- Environmental Compliance: Monitor activities related to environmental standards, including waste disposal and emissions tracking.
- Emergency Response & Security: Act as an emergency responder and ensure site security, coordinating staff and activities during out-of-hours emergencies.
- Inventory & Purchasing Support: Assist in purchasing lab equipment and manage facility deliveries, maintaining an equipment master manual.
- SOP Management & Documentation: Develop and update standard operating procedures for facilities and environmental tasks, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Environmental Support: Support the implementation of the company’s sustainability goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
- Full UK driving license and use of own car for work-related purposes.
- Experience in a laboratory environment and familiarity with lab equipment and environmental monitoring procedures is desirable.
- Knowledge of quality standards in a laboratory setting.
