Our client is a leading provider of assessment technology to primary and secondary schools. Their products promote success amongst students of all ages and abilities through personalised assessment and practice in reading and maths.

In the UK and Ireland, almost 6,000 schools and more than 1.4 million students use their products. Worldwide, they support over 18 million students, operating in 96 countries.

They seek a Senior Financal Accountiant to join the finance team. The Senior Financial Accountant will support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts. This includes aiding key accounting areas, collaborating with the business partnering team and transactional finance to provide insightful analysis, and ensuring reporting control. The role primarily focuses on accounting and control, but due to the dynamic nature of the business and its PE ownership, there are ample opportunities for career development in various areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Finance Team with preparing monthly management accounts for the Group and subsidiaries.
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and relevant supporting documentation to minimise year-end adjustments.
  • Participate in monthly management reporting, ensuring accurate coding for all business units and reconciling management to statutory accounts.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks from the US, driven by PE backers.
  • Engage in the external annual audit process, including the preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Support the transition from Sage X3 to Netsuite.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the FC and the broader finance team.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Newly Qualified Accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills (internally and externally).
  • Analytical thinker and creative problem solver.
  • Highly organiesd multi-tasker.
  • Experience working in a finance team.
  • Experience with Sage and Netsuite systems (not essential).
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and engage in diverse conversations.
