Senior Financial Accountant | 12 month maternity cover contract | Logistics Business | £70,000-£80,000 + bonus | Central London (5 days in the office)

JasperRose is partnering with an international logistics business that is looking for a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to join the team on 12-month maternity cover. Based in their Central London HQ you will be required to work in the office 5 days per week, working in a collaborative and sociable environment.

Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, working in a direct team of 5 and a wider finance team of 30+. This role will be responsible for overseeing the month-end and year-end reporting. You will also take a supportive role in looking at ways to improve their existing processes and systems, they have recently transitioned onto D365.

Responsibilities include:

• Month-end financial accounting and reporting activities per the reporting timetable
• Preparation of the quarterly consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules, and the monthly Flash trading profit report
• Preparation of the management accounts
• Preparation of quarterly joint venture accounts
• Maintenance and reconciliation of the fixed asset register
• Continuously looking at ways to improve processes on their newly implemented D365 system
• Helping to determine the correct technical accounting treatment for new types of transactions
• Ad hoc financial analysis when a request is received from the business

Skill set required:

The successful candidate will be a Pratcice trained, Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 1 year experience working in industry. You will have a good understanding of financial reporting and be comfortable preparing financial statements under IFRS. Experience working in the logistics industry or a asset-based business is preferred but not essential. You will be proactive and ambitious in nature with the desire to look at ways of improving existing processes.
