Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of technical accounting papers and workings to support key judgements and estimates.
  • Work alongside internal teams to ensure financial processes are robust, efficient and operate effectively.
  • Provide ad hoc guidance to support the wider business.

The successful applicant will be a proactive, fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ICAS) with experience in a similar role in preparing an IFRS compliant consolidation model on a statutory accounting basis, together with the supporting working files necessary to support the publication of Plc year end consolidated statutory accounts.

Therefore you will have comprehensive and up to date knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and preparation of statutory accounts and supporting disclosures in line with those standards; experience of completing or reviewing complex balance sheet reconciliations, particularly inventory and debtors; experience of oversight of the audit process and co-ordinating the wider finance teams and business owners to deliver information to the auditors in line with agreed timetable.

Strong working knowledge of data manipulation using Excel with the ability to manage large quantities of data including Vlookups and pivot tables is essential.

You will have strong communicational skills as you will be the subject matter expert and will be asked to liaise with stakeholders of all levels, the ability to present information in a clear simplified way to both finance and non-finance colleagues, whilst maintaining their own work load. Focussed on delivering specific objectives, you will be proactive, adaptable, dynamic and self-motivated with a desire to find and deliver improvements.

It is expected that the successful candidate will be dynamic and able to thrive in a fast-paced organisation, where initiative and ability to identify areas of improvement are promoted.
