JOB TITLE: Senior Golang Developer and Devops Engineer

SALARY: From £68,202 dependent on experience and location

LOCATION: London, Leeds or Edinburgh

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites noted above.

About this opportunity 

We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Golang developer with hands-on DevOps and Terraform expertise at Lloyds Banking Group. As a member of our Platform Engineering CoE team, you will be at the forefront of our Devops transformation, playing a vital role in integrating Modern Workplace tools and services (M365 and others) with Terraform to streamline operations and automate our SaaS tools with unparalleled efficiency. This position offers a unique chance to join a pioneering team and contribute to the sustained growth and sophistication of our Modern Workplace tools and services.

Specific activities will include:

  • Development of new Terraform providers for Modern Workplace tools

  • Maintain existing products including providers, http clients and SDK's

  • Spearhead the diversification of our product offerings with innovative Terraform providers for essential M365 services such as Intune and W365

  • Champion the shift towards an 'Everything as Code' paradigm, providing training and mentorship to our Modern Workplace teams

  • Encourage an environment that promotes continuous learning to enhance our collective expertise across our directorate.

  • Participate in Engineering Guilds and Working Groups to actively promote the DevOps brand in LBG.

  • Deliver business outcomes working in Jira and Confluence

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience in Go software development and a thorough understanding of Terraform's foundational principles

  • Strong proficiency in Golang, including a deep understanding of its syntax, advanced features, and standard library

  • Experience with HTTP services, SDK development, and orchestration technologies like Docker.

  • Ability to write concurrent programs in Go and a strong understanding of threading, synchronization, and non-blocking I/O

  • Experience in writing unit and integration tests in Go, using tools like testify

  • Proficiency in working with internal server storage modules within the Go ecosystem

  • Familiarity with code versioning tools, and can build continuous integration and deployment workflows e.g GHA
