Senior SHEQ Advisor

Reed Health & Safety are partnered with a  leading civil engineering contractor based in Omagh, Co Tyrone. They are experiencing continued growth and are seeking a Senior SHEQ Advisor to lead our SHEQ Team across multiple sites within Ireland. This role reports to the SHEQ Systems Manager and involves significant responsibility for health, safety, environmental, and quality assurance on construction projects.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Regularly review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety, Environmental rules and regulations to ensure the company remains compliant and adapts timely to necessary changes.
  • Support and implement new work processes to eliminate or reduce hazards throughout the business.
  • Manage the effective allocation of SHEQ Team resources to fulfil requirements on each project/site.
  • Manage our CDM responsibilities in accordance with current regulations.
  • Liaise with clients and respective counterparts across the business to understand delivery expectations and agree on SHEQ matters for each project.
  • Assist with tender documentation to ensure SHEQ submission.
  • Assist in the continuous development of company systems and procedures in relation to Company/Site Safety standards and Environmental compliance to deliver and excel on SHEQ Management System compliance with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001/2015 and 9001/2015 standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years demonstrable relevant experience in a similar Senior SHEQ Advisor role with direct responsibility for managing staff across multiple locations.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home on a project-by-project basis across Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
  • NEBOSH OHAS Diploma or Certification – held for more than 3 years.
  • Minimum Cert IOSH Member.
  • Internal Auditor or strong exposure to and understanding of implementation of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
  • Sound IT skills and strong experience in Microsoft packages, especially Word & Excel.
  • Clean Driving licence is essential for travel to sites.
