Senior Infrastructure Engineer - IMT Resourcing Solutions : Job Details

Our client are going through an exciting period of growth and are looking to bring in a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their small team. Paying up to £65,000 with a clear progression route to Technical Lead with this growing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of robust IT infrastructure solutions, with a focus on Fortinet, Azure, Cloud IaaS, Server & Storage, Virtualisation, and Backup technologies. This is a hands-on technical role, where you will be heavily involved in project delivery and have the opportunity to contribute to pre-sales activities.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, deployment, and management of enterprise-level infrastructure solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
• Work closely with the pre-sales team to provide technical expertise, helping to shape proposals and solutions that meet client requirements.
• Deliver end-to-end infrastructure projects, from planning and design through to implementation and support.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers within the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure solutions within broader IT environments.
• Monitor and optimise existing systems to ensure peak performance and reliability.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions that drive business value.
• Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues and provide expert troubleshooting support.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer with a strong track record in project delivery.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies.
• Expertise in Azure cloud services, with a focus on Cloud IaaS.
• Strong proficiency in server and storage technologies, including virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• In-depth understanding of backup technologies and best practices.
• Experience in pre-sales activities, including client engagement, requirements gathering, and solution design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and implement practical solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional).
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible).
• Familiarity with network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
