Senior IT Engineer - £28,000 – £34,000 – Birkenhead

VIQU are recruiting for an IT Support Engineer to provide essential 2nd/3rd line technical support. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining IT systems, assisting staff and students with technical issues, and ensuring a smooth and secure IT environment within an education setting. The ideal candidate would have previous experience supporting IT in an educational setting. 

This role would be based in Merseyside, Birkenhead and would require the candidate to be on site 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior IT Engineer:

• Provide efficient on-site IT support.
• Maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on computers, networks, and other IT equipment.
• Using Active Directory to manage permissions.
• Set up classrooms and organise IT equipment.
• Get involved with infrastructure upgrades.
• Communicate efficiently to teachers, students, and staff members.

Requirements of the Senior IT Engineer

• 2+ years of experience in a 2nd line support role.
• Experience using: Active directory, Microsoft 365, Hyper-V, Windows 10/11, hardware support.
• Knowledge of infrastructure systems and networking.
• MUST be happy to undergo a DBS check.
• MUST have some experience of IT support in an education setting. 
• MUST have a driving license and own transport.
