This position of Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial & Projects offers a unique opportunity to lead, advise and manage all commercial and project-related legal matters within the utilities industry.

Client Details

Our client is a well-established and sizeable entity within the utilities sector. With its headquarters in Wales, this business operates extensively within the UK, ensuring the delivery of essential services to its wide customer base.

Description

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of construction documents (NEC, JCT) and commercial agreements and protect the company's legal rights.
  • Provide advice on procurement regulations, commercial disputes, property litigation and data protection.
  • Ensure the company adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to internal teams.
  • Mitigate legal risks associated with contracts and business operations.
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
  • Have extensive knowledge of regulator and/or utility sector legal issues, gas industry related legislation and codes including relevant legislations such as the Gas Act 1986 (and related regulations).
  • Have excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Be able to work autonomously and to produce high quality work

Profile

A successful Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial & Projects should have:

  • Relevant PQE of least 6+ years in commercial & projects.
  • Excellent client care and communication skills.
  • To be able to work autonomously and to produce high quality work.
  • Excellent time management skills with strong prioritisation skills and ability to effectively manage your own workload.
  • To be computer literate with excellent Microsoft Package and IT skills.
  • A full UK/EU driving licence and own transport

Job Offer

  • Competitive salary package ranging between £80,000 - £95,000 per annum
