About the Role & Client:

My client, a leading UK based IT Services & Consulting organisation are seeking an experienced Linux Specialist to apply their knowledge of Automation within their global platform development team on a permanent basis. The consultant will initially be placed onto a major project with a globally operating financial organisation (approximated to last 2+ years minimum) where they will apply hands-on skills Automation and CI/CD based technologies.

Team Leadership: Ideally, the candidate will have some level of team leadership experience in order to provide mentorship to less senior team members. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as Linux SME & Automation Specialist within a globally operating Platform Team
• Lead and mentor a small team of junior engineers.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and methodologies
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (automation)
• Manage and optimize Linux environments (RHEL 8/9, Amazon Linux 2022)
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible Tower
• Utilising YAML, Git, Ansible Tower, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.

Candidate Experience:

• Strong recent professional experience within large Financial Services environments, and understanding of the workings of the sector
• Proficiency in SNOW, Terraform, Ansible Tower, GIT, API, YAML, and HCL.
• Relevant Certifications in DevOps / Automation / Cloud Platforms etc.
• Excellent hands-on design and engineering skills
• Outstanding communication skills
