Senior Management Accountant - Reed : Job Details

• Full time office based role. 
• Reports to: Finance Director

A returning client of mine in the freight/logistics industry is looking to recruit a Senior Management Accountant to assist in decision-making through effective reporting, planning, analysis, and control. This role is integral to the Finance team, which is led by the Finance Director and includes various key finance personnel.

• Management Accounting Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly P&L reports by branch and department.
  • Analyse customer profitability and provide KPI reporting.

• Planning:

  • Assist with the annual budget process.
  • Prepare financial models to support forecasting and strategic planning.

• Analysis & Control:

  • Conduct monthly variance analysis (actual vs. budget).
  • Review job costing and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Handle CASS and deferment reconciliations.
  • Analyse overhead costs and support the external audit process with detailed analyses and responses to auditor’s questions.

• Processes:

  • Review, identify, and implement new financial initiatives including policies and procedures to improve financial efficiency.
  • Prepare financial processes and manage Cargowise related projects.

• Part qualified, Finalist level or Qualified accountant with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a medium to large company environment.
• Strong understanding of financial processes and procedures.
• Advanced Excel skills (excluding macros).
• Experience with large ERP systems.
• International business experience is essential.

• Relevant industry background - logistics, freight forwarding, distribution.
• Proven track record of improving financial processes.

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills as well as listening skills.
• Efficient with a keen eye for detail.
