Role Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to ensure that T Rowe Price’s HR operations, policies and processes are established and maintained in line with local regulation and legislation, as well as global standards. This role will focus specifically on the EMEA region.

Collaborating with HR leaders and Business Managers, whilst partnering in a matrixed environment with SMEs predominantly from Legal, Compliance, Risk, Global Privacy, Audit and other HR leaders globally,   the focus of this role is to consult on compliance and risk issues that impact HR. Essential to the success of this role, is the ability to provide accurate and business focused advice, support HR teams in reviewing their practices to ensure compliance to legal and regulatory obligations and play an influential role in leading best practice and problem-solving.

The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in key HR compliance areas such as data privacy, regulatory requirements, and employment law, specifically an in depth understanding of UK employment law, financial regulations with a deeper knowledge and experience of FCA regulations, inclusive of SMCR, IFPR and MIFID. They will also have a deep understanding of HR operations and be able to demonstrate risk awareness, alongside working knowledge of governance and controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct oversight of HR Compliance and Governance matters for EMEA.
  • Work with SMEs to understand impact on HR policies, processes, and operations so that appropriate advice is given to HR teams.
  • Partner with SMEs to understand and support their needs (e.g., regulatory requests, operational reviews, regulatory reporting)
  • Help to anticipate the changing legal and regulatory requirements that will impact the people, compliance, governance processes and HR technology across EMEA.
  • Lead projects and serve as the SME for our HR operational Compliance and Governance issues both from the HR business perspective and overall people impact with firmwide regulations.
  • Partner with Audit, Compliance Monitoring etc. to prepare for HR risk assessments.
  • Conduct gap analysis exercises to identify risks and implement solutions to enhance the team’s compliance and governance.
  • Ensure HR policies and process are maintained and up to date with regulatory and legal changes (e.g., update Associate handbooks, review and update existing policies, design, and implement new processes)
  • Function as the first point of contact for HR privacy, data protection, incident management matters and ensure that EMEA is compliant with local legislation and global policies.
  • Execute the Privacy by Design principle within the HR compliance and governance program.
  • Develop training material to educate HR teams and key business partners.

Qualifications:

Required:

It is essential that candidates have extensive work experience to demonstrate.

  • Deep understanding of policies, processes, and operation across distinct functions within HR
  • History of collaborating with senior leaders and SMEs from across the business
  • Experience of risk management and strong judgement, ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Overall evidence of consulting, partnering, and influencing skills
  • Proven experience of interpreting changes in legislation and regulatory requirements and understanding the impact on HR
  • Strong examples of managing complex compliance/legal issues as they relate to HR operations to include a demonstration of independent problem-solving ability.
  • Proven multi-tasking abilities and initiative-taking approach.
  • Strong background gained in a consulting/advisory role.
  • Understanding of HR legal and regulatory landscape for EMEA (e.g., GDPR, IFPR, SMCR, MiFID)
  • Financial services background and familiar with regulatory complexity and working in matrixed environment.

Desired:

It is not essential to have the below skills/experience, but they would be highly advantageous.

  • Project management experience
  • Experience gained within asset management/wealth management business.
  • Technical knowledge with Workday and movement of data
