Senior Network Engineer - AWD online : Job Details

Senior Network Engineer who has experience of multi-site LAN & WAN environments including IP routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, WiFi and Security, with configuration and troubleshooting skills and experience of Fortinet products, is required for well-established Cloud Solutions Provider based in Colgate, Horsham, West Sussex.

SALARY: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE) + Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Hybrid role, working partly from the office inColgate, Horsham, West Sussex (RH13) and partly from home

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9.00am - 5.30pm, Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Network Engineerwho has experience of multi-site LAN & WAN environments including IP routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, WiFi and Security, with configuration and troubleshooting skills and experience of Fortinet products.

Working as the Senior Network Engineer you will work within the Networking Engineering Team to deliver networking solutions for client and the primary role will be to delivery multiple projects, working closely with both the client and the project management team.

As the Senior Network Engineer you will have close involvement with the company’s client base as well as working with the existing technical team to deploy network solutions and working as part of a resolver group or troubleshooting technical issues and support activities when required.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Senior Network Engineer will include:

• Leading projects during project delivery

• Commissioning WAN circuits / MPLS / Ethernet / Internet

• Configuring and deploying Multi-Vendor Devices (Switches, Routers and Firewalls) including SDWAN devices such as Fortinet, Cisco and Meraki

• Configuring, installation, and troubleshooting hardware

• Work within a multi-disciplinary technical team

• Receiving and owning issues; enquiries and change requests for support from clients and prioritise these requests accordingly

• Investigating and troubleshooting network availability and application problems and other requests for support

• Performing troubleshooting and diagnosis for issues using the technical resources and managements and monitoring tools available

• Perform logical and physical design activities. Design, develop, implement, tune and support network environments and equipment

• Implement complex hardware and software upgrades to meet capacity requirements

• Perform configuration changes to increase network coverage

• Liaison with 3rd parties, customers and site providers to ensure completion of tasks

• Processing / coordinating service requests (moves, adds & changes)

• Ensuring that all processes are followed, and all issues are owned through to resolution

• Ensuring health and safety of self and others

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

• Fortinet FCSS and previous experience of working with Fortinet products

• Cisco CCNP Technical Accreditation or equivalent experience

• Knowledge and competence of multi-site LAN & WAN environments including IP routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, WiFi and Security

• Proven knowledge and competence of WAN\LAN technologies and products

• Be competent at configuration and troubleshooting of WAN/LAN products, multi-vendor skills would be a bonus

• GCSE Grade C or equivalent; Maths, English

Desirable

• Awareness of WAN/MPLS technologies

• Experience with working with ISP suppliers
