Position summary

Financial Markets Middle Office department cooperates with Head Office to conduct market, credit, operational risk monitoring and reporting of London Trading Centre and Global Financial Markets (GFM) in Bank of China (BOC) London Branch and Bank of China (UK) Limited, and other overseas branches to meet the relevant policies and requirements in respect of risk framework establishment and implementation. As a Senior Officer - Transaction Reporting within FM Middle Office, you will coordinate and carry out the monitoring and reporting of Market Risk and Credit Risk of the Bank’s London Trading Centre and Global Financial Markets department. You will also be responsible for approval of hard blocked transactions, issuing opinions on risk incidences and related IT system development. This is a 12 months fixed term contract position.

Essential responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Enhance policies and procedures with regards to Credit Risk and Market Risk controls as well as other related controls or operations
  • Carry out risk control activities on Market Risk and Credit Risk pertaining to the financial markets business of London Trading Centre and Global Financial Markets department in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures
  • Issue risk opinions on significant or emerging risks to the business units
  • Investigate and approve/reject hard blocked transactions in the system
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and liaise with third parties with regards to system development/upgrade and change management
  • Assist in staff training
  • Cover other team members when required

Person specification

  • Degree educated preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business
  • Professional qualification in Finance, Risk or Compliance related area
  • Demonstrated work experience in Finance, Risk or Operations area gained in the Financial Services industry
  • Experience in Transaction Reporting
  • Knowledge of Risk Management and Compliance
  • Understanding of financial products
  • Commercial awareness
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred
