Job Description :

At Penguin Random House, we are looking for a dedicated Senior Payroll Analyst to support our Group Salaries department during the critical Testing & Parallel run phases of our HRIS Programme. This role is essential in ensuring that our payroll operations run smoothly while our team transitions to the new HRIS system, Dayforce. You will play a key part in maintaining daily payroll tasks, allowing our team to focus on testing and training for the new system.

This is a full time, fixed-term opportunity to join our team for 6 months.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain daily tasks within the payroll department, backfilling roles and responsibilities to free up team members for Testing (UAT) and Parallel run phases.
  • Monitor enquiry clearance of shared mailbox.
  • Complete complex calculations on Maternities, Long-Term Sickness (LTS), Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), and leavers.
  • Process all Starters, Leavers, and Statutory Absence.
  • Manage all adhoc data changes across 14 payrolls, including 1 Weekly payroll and 2 Pensioner payrolls.
  • Handle all Pension related changes across 14 payrolls, including 1 Weekly payroll and 2 Pensioner payrolls.
  • Process all Flexible Benefit changes across 14 payrolls, including 1 Weekly payroll and 2 Pensioner payrolls.
  • Raise adhoc advances and 3rd party payments.
  • Check team processing for accuracy.
  • Complete system audits between the HR & Payroll systems.
  • Complete month-end payroll controls prior to payroll release.
  • Run payroll reporting suites across the payrolls at month-end.

What you’ll bring:

  • Advanced level experience of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrable organisational skills and a methodical approach.
  • Ability to work effectively and inclusively with a range of people, both within and outside of the organisation.
  • Determination, resourcefulness, and purpose to deliver.
  • Adaptability to change.
  • Ideal for candidates from a Payroll Bureau background.
  • Experience with Payrite, FMP/IRIS would be an asset.

Essential criteria:

  • Extensive experience of working within a Payroll department.

Salary

£38,000 - £40,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from our office in Frating, Essex, 1 or 2 days per week.

Salary : 38000 - 40000
