Role Summary
The Senior Payroll Implementation Analyst will work closely with our Analysts, Testers and Business subject matter experts to provide solutions to improve/development and support of the "PenServer and Compendia" Pensions payroll software. Ensuring pension and annuity payments are made accurately and on time for internal customers, hosted and own site clients.
The role also involves new projects and client implementations, development and support of both core and client specific processes.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:
To play an effective, efficient, and proactive role within the Equiniti Payroll Delivery Team. Specific areas of responsibility include:
- Produce or contribute to requirements, technical and functional specifications
- Participate in the formal agreement and sign-off of requirement and other specifications
- Develop an understanding of how to design and produce low cost, simple and effective, user-friendly solutions based on both Microsoft and proprietary programming tools, ensuring the design incorporates low level post implementation incidents. Include data considerations in any design work
- Produce and agree system prototypes to ensure user acceptance of major design work
- Configure systems according to company standards
- Ensure successful development and delivery of all configuration and programming activities to meet the technical design and provide post implementation support
- Ensure that code is re-used or enhanced instead of bespoke function creation
- Undertake unit and link testing
- Produce user and system documentation to company standards ensuring easy to use and maintainable processes
- Exercise project administration/control on small projects in accordance with Prince2 standards
- Maintain helpdesk entries throughout the lifecycle of reported incidents
- Provide support for existing installed systems to agreed SLA
- Produce accurate estimates before undertaking work, ensuring that unknowns are published.
- Analyse changes and enhancements to client's payrolls, taking a view of their impact on the software as installed for the client
- Demonstrate commercial aptitude
- Work within the correct boundaries of scope, incident management and change control
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
- Excellent team player: highly consultative when working with internal and external clients
- Highly IT literate and quick to develop new skills and techniques (gaining working knowledge of the company's proprietary development tools within a short space of time will be required)
- Strong time managements skills: excellent at multi-tasking and meeting numerous challenging deadlines
- Knowledge of payroll or payments software (at least 5 years' practical exposure)
- Understanding of software development life-cycle
- Preferably at least 5 years' experience in Software Development.
- Approachable and responsive to colleagues and users
- Demonstrate effective and probing appraisal of situations. Consult with relevant parties in resolving issues (a qualification in analysis would be desirable)
- Ability to design and execute tests of software and process developments
- Technically competent in Microsoft software tools/programming languages (at least 5 years).
- An ability to investigate and interpret client needs and business requirements and translate them into specifications
- Wide knowledge of software delivery methodologies and best practice
- Able to undertake test design and execution (a qualification in testing would be desirable)
- Ability to mentor Payroll Implementation Analysts
