Job Title: Senior People Business Partner (Maternity Cover)

Reporting To: Head of People

Line Management: People Administrator reporting into this role, supports across the team

Location: Based in Basingstoke. Hybrid working available (3 days from the office, 2 days from home). Travel to our London offices required as per the requirements of the business.

The job in a nutshell

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will provide excellent business partnering skills to deliver strong organisational capability and performance within specific functions of the business

Who you will work with

Internal: Key stakeholders including Directors, Senior Management Team, Junior Managers. All levels within the business functions that you partner. Colleagues within the People Team.

External: Experts in specialist people skills as required i.e. legal advisors.

What you will do

  • Work with your Directors and Heads of to deliver excellent business performance, including an engaged and inclusive culture.

  • Develop and deliver a Business Unit/Departmental People plan, identifying HR priorities from corporate and departmental plans, translating business requirements into effective HR practices and delivering people solutions aligned to business objectives.

  • Providing expert HR advice and guidance to managers and staff on the whole employee lifecycle - HR matters, supporting managers in dealing with complex casework, performance, attendance (wellbeing) and employee relations issues.

  • Understand capability gaps and develop recruitment plans to ensure that your functions have the right skills.

  • Work with your Directors to manage people costs effectively and within budget.

  • Work with the People Development Business Partner to coach and develop managers to ensure excellent people management capability, including performance management and developing a strong culture of learning.

  • Manage any employee relations issues according to Company policy

  • Support and develop the People Administrator.

  • Maintain a clear understanding and providing up to date knowledge of the legal framework within which HR operates, developing HR policies in line with current legislation and keeping abreast of modern HR procedures and best practice.

  • Deliver key HR initiatives across the HR spectrum, including workforce planning, restructuring, resourcing, talent management, pay and reward, employee relations, employee engagement and performance management.

Experience / Achievements

Essential:

  • Experience of business partnering, including leading change

  • Experience in both generalist and specialist HR skill sets

Desirable

  • Experience working in more than one business sector

Qualifications

  • CIPD Qualified or Degree in related discipline or equivalent on the job experience
