The Role:We're working hard to build a technology foundation fit for a modern digital, insight-led, responsive business. As part of this exciting transformation, we are looking for a Senior Analyst Programmer to work with us. As Senior Analyst Programmer you are working on day-to-day support of the system, and supporting development changes to the business within the M&G CAPSIL and PHCS Platform, you will also be supporting wider migration and innovation activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Business requirements analysis - provide context in the project delivery aligned to utilisation of the CAPSIL & PHCS platform.
- Technical Design - compose solution design documents based on Project requirements specification.
- Application Design - Review and comment on Application Design documents.
- Coding - Complete code changes based on Application Design Specs, or on occasion from High Level Requirements
- Unit Test - Complete and document Unit Testing of developed code
- Test Approach - Provide advice on testing and input to test approach documents.
- Test Support - Support Application, Functional and User Acceptance Testing stages and ensure defect sixes are completed within project timelines.
- Implementation Planning - Compose implementation plans and support the implementation activity.
- Test Region Management - Manage configuration of test regions and assign regions to projects.
You will have: - A good working knowledge of different tools and techniques and can train others. Able to advise others on testing techniques and frameworks. Able to research, plan and train others within the team. Good working knowledge of tools COBOL, CICS, VSAM, JCL / TSO, FAULT ANALYSER, FILE MANAGER, SELCOPY / EASYTRIEVE / ICETOOL, ENDEVOR, ADADBAS, NATURAL, SAS
- Good UK Life and Pensions knowledge.
- Able to think outside the box, ask the right questions and critically evaluate and communicate findings to a larger team.
- Leads investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing processes, driving the collection of information and creation of recommendations for improvements.
- Can absorb large amounts of conflicting information and use it to determine solutions.
- Able to design and execute a wide range of testing & non-functional testing techniques and communicate test results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Able to make decisions on the environment for testing and coaches others. Able to raise defects with the business and help prioritise them based on defect severity.
- Experience working in fast paced agile environments.
- Experience working in cross functional teams.
