About the Senior Projects Lawyer opportunity:

Sellick Partnership is proud to be working with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council on an exclusive basis for the recruitment into their legal team. We are looking for a Projects Lawyer to join the team at a really exciting time, with various major projects coming up in the region for the successful candidate to get involved in.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Projects Lawyer role:

Depending on the level of experience, the lawyers in the property team deal with the following type of work:

• Directly line managing 2 Projects Lawyers, 1 Highways and Planning Lawyer and 1 Legal Asisstant.
• Deputising for the Principal Lawyer and assisting with training and development of junior members.
• Providing support and oversight on major projects of strategic importance e.g Glassworks, Alhambra, the Tour of Britain
• Attending project board meetings
• Construction contracts, such as JCT and NEC
• Drafting and reviewing Development agreements, framework agreements and bespoke standard terms and conditions
• Advising on consultancy agreements/professional service agreements, grant agreements, collateral warranties, PCGS, bonds and collaboration agreements
• Providing procurement advice

Experience required for the Projects Lawyer post:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.
• Candidates aren't expected to have experience in all of the above, exposure to one or more are would be beneficial.
