The RoleAs a Senior Property Accountant, you will take ownership of managing the financial operations of a diverse commercial real estate portfolio. This includes ensuring compliance with the RICS Code of Practice and applying your advanced understanding of commercial real estate principles to provide insightful financial reporting and support. You’ll collaborate closely with property managers, clients, and other stakeholders to maintain and enhance the financial performance of the assets under management.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

1. Property Accounting - sales ledger & credit control, including:

  • Supporting accounts’ team in issuing charges to tenants, recording receipts, answering queries in a timely manner
  • Setting up tenancies, charges and budgets on Qube;
  • Arrears reporting & chasing in close coordination with Credit Controller
  • Overseeing of direct debit collection process

2. Property Accounting - purchase ledger, including:

  • Supporting accounts’ team in processing of invoices from suppliers in a timely and accurate manner and circulate to appropriate management for authorisation; • Weekly supplier payment runs;
  • Supporting accounts’ team in Answering Supplier queries

3. Property Accounting - client reporting & relationship, including:

  • Preparation of Client reports (including but not limited to income & expenditure reports, debtors’ reports, VAT returns);
  • Preparation of year end property accounts and liaising with auditors (if required);
  • Participation in Client meetings where required;
  • Month end process on Qube;

4. Property Accounting - new and outgoing instructions, including:

  • Ensuring smooth onboarding of new client instructions, in line with PMA and RICS requirements
  • Ensuring smooth offboarding/handover of outgoimg client instructions, in line with PMA and RICS requirements

5. Property Accounting - banking:

  • Monthly three-way bank reconciliations;

6 Finance Support:

  • To provide general support to all Finance staff and colleagues across the group;
  • To provide cover for roles and duties during periods of absence;
  • To maintain a confidential electronic filing system to ensure that accurate up to date information is available to the Finance department;
  • To respond to requests for information relating to the department.

7 General:

  • To ensure that maximum use is made of information technology systems within the department.
  • To ensure that the values of the organisation are displayed throughout all work activities.
  • To carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 5+ years of property accounting experience, with a focus on commercial real estate.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of the RICS Code of Practice, and proficiency in property management and accounting system QUBE or similar.

Salary : 45000 - 50000
