Our client is a reputable National Consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team based in Glasgow. As a key player in the construction and property industry, they specialise in managing a diverse portfolio of Commercial and Residential projects. Roles and Responsibilities:
Project Cost Management:
- Oversee the entire cost management process for assigned projects, ensuring accurate and timely budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Conduct comprehensive cost analyses to identify potential risks and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations to optimize project financial outcomes.
Contract Administration:
- Administer and manage various types of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to negotiate and finalise contractual agreements with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Quantity Surveying:
- Undertake detailed quantity surveying duties, including the measurement and valuation of work, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Prepare and analyse bills of quantities, tender documents, and other relevant documentation.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks related to cost, contract, and project delivery, implementing effective strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Provide proactive and timely advice to the project team on risk-related matters.
Client Engagement:
- Foster strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations to deliver high-quality service.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing queries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with internal project teams, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Mentor and support junior members of the quantity surveying team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports on project financial status, cost forecasting, and other relevant metrics for senior management and clients.
- Ensure compliance with internal reporting processes and standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a minimum of 8 years in a senior role.
- Chartered status with a relevant professional body (RICS, CIOB, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and relevant industry regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in industry-standard software and tools.
