Senior Quantity Surveyor - deverellsmith : Job Details

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a principal contractor on a large, high profile, office fit-out project, located in central London.

The Project: This project involves a grade-listed building, with cut-and-carve experience being essential for the role. The refurbishment will focus on transforming the space into a modern commercial office environment.

Role Overview:As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be the number two to a highly experienced Commercial Lead and will take on significant responsibility in managing the day-to-day activities of the commercial team. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the performance of the team, ensuring efficient cost management, and supporting the delivery of the project within budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the commercial team, including a QS, and AQS.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.
• Oversee the day-to-day commercial management of the project.
• Assist with cost planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Monitor project performance to ensure costs are controlled and targets are met.
• Collaborate with the wider project team to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
• Manage and negotiate contracts, variations, and claims.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Report directly to the Commercial Lead and support them with strategic decision-making.

We're Looking For:

• Extensive experience with cut-and-carve,.
• Main Contractor background as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager
• A BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Strong experience with cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
