Senior Scala Developer

Copenhagen - hybrid remote working from home.

$90-108K USD plus high-end pension, insurances and excellent benefits package.

To be successful in this role:

You will be a confident and senior Scala Designer, with experience in agile software development, and building cloud-based platforms. Other requirements for this role include:

• Proficiency in Scala and familiarity with other modern programming languages
• Experience with cloud platforms especially AWS
• You have designed large-scale systems and have a deep understanding of APIs, data architecture, and network components
• Writing and maintaining clear technical documentation is second nature to you
• You are a team player who values open communication and enjoys mentoring others
• You bring a proactive mindset, eager to contribute to a positive and innovative work environment

Job role and responsibilities:

As a Senior Scala Developer, you will join a dedicated product and engineering team working on a modern, cloud-based platform designed to make a meaningful difference for users. This is a senior hands-on role where you will collaborate closely with team members to design and build scalable, impactful features. Responsibilities include:

• Work on backend systems using a microservice architecture with technologies: Scala, Java, and Python, databases
• Leverage cloud services and modern infrastructure practices and automation
• Help define the architecture and make key technical decisions that will shape the platform for the long term
• Collaborate with product stakeholders to ensure features align with user needs, from initial discovery to final delivery
• Support your team through code reviews, pair programming, and mentorship
• Actively participate in discussions to drive technical and architectural strategies
